Butler Supports Muscular Dystrophy Association Lock-Up Event

CONGRATULATIONS to all the “jailbirds” from local businesses who participated in last month’s MDA Ashland Lock-Up!

Butler Automotive Group has sponsored the Ashland and Medford events for the past 5 years, donating vans to transport “jailbirds” from their place of business to the lock-up.  Once there, the “jailbirds” leverage their contacts to raise “bail”, otherwise known as donations to MDA.  This year’s Ashland event brought in $14,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association!

Among other things, the funds will be used to help send local kids with Muscular Dystrophy to summer camp, a week of activities geared for their abilities and a place to bond with other kids with similar health concerns.  Having had the privilege of visiting that camp when I was involved in the MDA Telethon years ago, I can testify from experience that some of the children look forward to that week all year long.  Their joy was contagious.

Butler is honored to be able to play a role in sending those children to camp, and offers kudos to other local businesses that do the same.  Let’s keep up the good work, Southern Oregon!
