Do you want the good news or the bad news first? The bad news is Acura plans to do away with the ZDX crossover vehicle after the 2013 model year. The good news is that in its final year the ZDX will get get some styling and technology upgrades. Look for a redesigned front grille, front and rear parking sensors, and power folding side mirrors, along with safety features like Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW). On the aesthetic side, the 2013 ZDX will sport new wood trim on the center console, a high-contract interior option, and a dark accent on the wheels.
Acura says it’s moving away from the ZDX in favor of focusing on new core models like the recently redesigned RDX and the upcoming RLX flagship sedan. But if you like the way the ZDX drives, take an MDX for a spin – the two models share the same platform. Personally, we think all Acuras drive like a dream but it was the ZDX’s unique shape that captivated our attention. With Acura set to send the ZDX into the sunset next year, we guess it’s a good thing it looks as good going as coming.
