Hyundai, like every other auto maker, aims to shock and awe at the industry’s number one event: SEMA. The 2012 SEMA Show (aka, the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show) takes place in Las Vegas from October 30 to November 2 and, if last year’s any indication, should draw upwards of 60,000 people from around the globe. SEMA’s website describes the event as “the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world. It draws the industry’s brightest minds and hottest products to one place, the Las Vegas Convention Center. In addition, the SEMA Show provides attendees with educational seminars, product demonstrations, special events, networking opportunities and more.”
Anyway, our point is that Hyundai wants to impress. So the Korean Automaker’s come up with some snazzy specialty cars, including this cobalt blue honey of a Genesis Coupe. Hyundai worked with eingineering design and manufacturing company Cosworth on what’s being called the Cosworth Genesis Racing Series (CGRS). The Cosworth model makes a statement with its 3.8-liter, direct-injected engine tuned to racecar levels, with mighty 389 horsepower at 6400 rpm, and tire-shredding torque of 325 lb.-ft. at 5100 rpm. The exterior radiates a retina-bending satin-gloss blue finish, aero front splitter, gunmetal-finish lightweight racing wheels, integrated rear spoiler, and blackout rear diffuser.
Yeah, that should do it.
