If you and your vehicle have ever been in an accident you may have found the repair process more stressful than the wreck itself. Some insurance companies attempt to steer clients in a particular direction saying they won’t guarantee work done by anyone else. But all that matters is that the collision center guarantees its work. You want to choose a repair center because of what it can do, not which insurance company it’s affiliated with. Butler Auto’s Collision Center and Body Shop works well with all carriers and guarantees all workmanship of covered repairs performed by Butler to meet auto repair standards for as long as you own your vehicle.
That being said here’s the way the process at Butler Auto’s Collision Center and Body Shop works.
First, you most likely came to us one of two ways: Your insurance company contacted us and requested we give you a call, or you initiated contact with us and asked us to call your insurance company. Either way, the process after initial contact with you and your insurance company will go like this:
With your help we will gather all pertinent information about you, your insurance, and your vehicle. We will also do an initial inspection and give you a rough estimate as to repair costs.
We will then ask you and your insurance company whether we should go ahead with repairs. Upon approval from both parties we will set you up with a rental vehicle, if necessary.
3. SCHEDULE REPAIRS and ORDER PARTS
If we have the correct parts on hand we may be able to start repairs on your vehicle right away. If parts need to be ordered we may have to schedule repairs for a later date. We will work with you to find a time that works best for you.
This is where we get to work repairing your vehicle. The repair process can include all or some of the following:
- Disassembly – Once we get a closer look at the damage the original repair estimate may be revised. Estimates can be revised upward or downward but, no matter which collision center or body shop you choose to do the work, they almost always change. If the estimate does change we will again contact you and your insurance company to make sure it’s okay to continue with repairs.
- Structural repair
- Body repair
- Final inspection
At this point all repair work is complete. We will call you to let you know your vehicle is ready to be picked up. When you arrive we will explain the bill to you and collect payment.
