On the radio this morning the deejays discussed dream vacations. They wanted to know where we would go if money were no object. Turns out more Americans say they’d go to Italy than any other location. But that got us thinking… There’s plenty to see in this country alone so, where would you go if money were no object but you couldn’t leave the States? According to Travel+Leisure magazine a handful of locations boast the highest popularity. They are as follows:

1.  Times Square, New York City
2.  Central Park, New York City
3. Union Station, Washington, DC
4.  Las Vegas Strip, Las Vegas, Nevada
5.  Grand Central Terminal, New York City
6.  Magic Kingdom, Disney World, Buena Vista, FL
7.  Disneyland, Anaheim, CA
8 and 9.  It’s a tie between Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, CA and Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Boston, MA
10.  Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA
11.  Balboa Park, San Diego, CA
12.  Epcot at Walt Disney World, Buena Vista, FL
13.  Pike Place Market, Seattle, WA
14.  Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World, Buena Vista, FL
15.  Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World, Buena Vista, FL
16.  Great Smoky Mountains National Park, TN and NC
17 and 18.  It’s a tie between the South Street Seaport, New York City and the Mackinac Bridge in Mackinaw City, MI
19. Navy Pier, Chicago, IL
20.  Pier 39, San Francisco, C A

Of course, we don’t know how many visitors stopped at these places while on a road trip and how many flew but, you get the point.  We’re surprised the Grand Canyon didn’t make the list!  Have you traveled to any of these locations by car?  Where’s your favorite road trip destination?
