Butler Raiders Up!

Southern Oregon is abuzz with excitement this week, as the Southern Oregon University Raiders football team travels to Daytona Beach, Florida to compete for their second-consecutive NAIA National Championship.

The Raiders’ road to the title game was anything but a routine stroll back to post-season glory, as the Raiders dropped the first game of their season to arch-rival Carroll College and then lost their homecoming game just two weeks before the playoffs started. Yet despite falling out of first place, SOU defeated the second and first ranked teams in the country back-to-back to earn a trip to the school’s second national championship appearance.

Butler Automotive Group is thrilled to sponsor CBS-affiliate KTVL Medford and ABC-affiliate KDRV Medford as they send reporters to Daytona Beach to cover the title game. SOU has grown as the Rogue Valley population has, and it’s a privilege to be able to help local media affiliates represent our community on the other side of the country.

The title game will take place at 3 P.M. PST this Saturday, December 19th. The game will stream live on ESPN3 and will be shown at a number of local restaurants, which can be viewed here.

Chuck and Linda Butler have been active supporters of Southern Oregon University since moving to Ashland in 1975, when the school was called Southern Oregon State College. The Butlers set up shop in Ashland because it had a four year college, and their support for SOU hasn’t faltered for 40 years. We hope you’ll join us in cheering on our boys as they fight to bring home another national championship!
