Tax season is here! Why is that a good thing? Many of us have already received our refunds and are investing money back into the economy through automotive purchases. A win-win for the economy and the consumer.
So what vehicles are the most sought after? The 2015 Ford F-150 and Acura TLX proudly sit among the top sellers in a January auto sales report, according to Edmunds.com.
“Momentum is especially strong for our F-Series pickup, with the all-new F-150 the hottest product on our dealers lots in January,” said Erich Merkle, Ford’s U.S. sales analyst. Ford reported that the new aluminum-bodied F-150 is averaging just 12 days on the lot. High-end Platinum and King Ranch F-150 models are “turning even faster, averaging just nine and 10 days, respectively,” Ford said.
Ford posted a 15 percent sales increase in the U.S. in January, with sales of 178,351 vehicles.
Acura’s revamped Acura TLX was a top performer as well. Consumers grabbed 2,892 TLXs in January, “easily besting the combined sales of its two predecessors in January 2014 by 27.9 percent,” the company said. The TLX replaces the Acura TL and TSX. A sure winner for 2015.

2015 Hyundai Genesis AR550
Until now few people would have used the word aggressive to describe a Hyundai. But that all changes with the Korean auto maker’s SEMA vehicle for this year. Hyundai and ARK Performance, Inc. teamed up to create the 2015 Genesis AR550, their sixth SEMA collaboration. The sedan is low and wide and capable of performance usually attributed to German cars. Lerry Liu, Marketing Director, ARK Performance, Inc., says, “This year we are focused on two core elements all under the new line of ARK Racing (AR) concepts for Hyundais. First, we focused on the power, handling, and most importantly the sound of the Hyundai power plant. Second, we integrated our high-performance racing technology to introduce a very unique and bold Hyundai vehicle.”
The AR550 will debut at Hyundai’s SEMA press conference November 9th. For more details read the entire press release.

2015 Acura TLX in Basque Red Pearl II
This is it, the week we at Butler Acura get our first in-person look at the all-new 2015 Acura TLX! Much has been said about the TLX regarding its performance, luxury and safety features but we think Butler Acura Sales Manager Peter McFadden summed the car up best. “It’s the first true Acura sedan since 2008,” he says. “The luxury, the technology, the design, the styling – it’s the first vehicle that’s 100% Acura. There’s no Honda influence. It’s what we want an Acura sedan to be.” Peter tells us the first TLX to arrive on Butler Acura’s lot will be an Advance package in Basque Red Pearl II (shown above). Soon thereafter we’ll be taking delivery on a Graphite Luster model. While we’ve already sold a few neither of the two vehicles mentioned here have been claimed… you know, in case you want to come take a look for yourself!
2015 Acura TLX
If you ordered a 2015 Acura TLX your vehicle may be in manufacturing right this second! Acura started mass producing the performance sedan at its Marysville, Ohio plant yesterday. Parent-company Honda says 90% of Acura models sold in the U.S. are now made in the U.S. “The start of mass production of the TLX marks a new era for our Acura sedan lineup,” says Mike Accavitti, senior vice president and general manager of Acura. “The TLX is built in a world-class facility with a world-class workforce and we can’t wait to get this thrilling sedan into the hands of our customers in just a few short weeks.” We hope to see the first 2015 TLX arrive at Butler Acura sometime this August.
There’s somethin’ ’bout a truck…
How loyal are you? Not to your family, friends and significant other but to your vehicle? Or, more accurately, your vehicle category. This blogger, for instance, has always been a “truck girl” and, with the exception of a Honda Accord hatchback driven briefly in high school, I’ve stayed pretty true to the truck/SUV segment.
And that’s pretty much what a study conducted by Edmunds predicted. The poll ranked customer loyalty to 22 vehicle categories… The top five segments with the most faithful customers are, in order: Large trucks, vans, minivans, premium sports cars and premium luxury cars. Subcompacts bring up the rear. To view the entire list and see whether you and your car/truck/SUV preferences have much company visit http://blogs.insideline.com/straightline/2012/09/the-list-22-vehicle-categories-ranked-by-brand-loyalty.html.
