Butler Open Houses Offer Customers an Inside Look at Butler Dealerships

openhouse1When you’ve been in business for nearly 40 years, you’re bound to have some firmly-held traditions, and the Butler family of dealerships is no exception. From our monthly birthday celebrations to Red Shirt Friday, when employees wear red to show their support for our veterans, our weeks and months are full of activities that draw on the experiences we’ve shared together over the years.

One of our favorite traditions, and the one that might be most familiar to our customers, is our Owner’s Clinic, or “Open House” gatherings. Every six months, each of our four dealerships hosts their customers for an evening of friendly fun, yummy food, and the ability to have our guests ask the staff questions about their new vehicle. Curtis Hancock, our director of parts and service, is especially proud of the rare opportunities owner’s clinics present to customers.

guyandmatt“I think there are two things that really make owner’s clinics special opportunities,” Curtis says. “For one thing, when you buy a new car, for better or worse, you’re two to 6 hours in when you take delivery of your new vehicle. Then we go over all its features, show you how it works, it’s hard to retain all that information. At an open house, you can ask us anything you want, because all of us are there, finance, sales, and service.”

rexplaining“Open houses also provide people a chance to tour the shop, one-on-one with a technician. We almost never pull service off the line, so to be able to spend 15, 20 minutes walking and talking with someone who can answer literally any question you have about your vehicle is really unusual, and when we hear from people who have enjoyed our open houses, that’s often what they talk about.”

rockWe cherish every opportunity we get to spend time with our customers, and our open house events allows us to forge relationships outside of our conventional work schedule. We had our most recent Acura and Ford open houses in August, and we are already looking forward to our next Hyundai open house on September 17th. A heartfelt testimonial about our Acura Service Advisor Joe Butterfield and Rental Manager Chris Hansen came in today via email to our General Manager, Warren Cooper, and we just couldn’t wait for next week’s Testimonial Tuesday to share it with you.

Joe Butterfield Web“We want to send our compliments to you and your staff for helping us turn a potential nightmare into a minor bump in the road.  We live in Kent, Washington and own a 2003 Acura TL.  We purchased our car new and have had all of our service done at Acura of Seattle.  Prior to leaving on a long road trip to southern California we took our car to Acura of Seattle to have a complete check up and service so that we could make our trip with peace of mind that we would have an uneventful drive.  We spent $2000 on service.  One item replaced was our oil pump.  Twenty miles north of Roseburg we pulled off the freeway for a bite to eat.  When we pulled into the parking lot, our oil warning light began to flash.  Panic set in.  We checked the oil and found it almost empty.  We added three quarts and got on the freeway and phone looking for the nearest dealer.  Butler was that dealer.  We spoke with Joe Butterfield and he said get to Butler and they would take care of us.  The rest of the story is simple.  We contacted Seattle Acura on our way to Butler and they said “Don’t worry, we will work with Butler and take care of you.”  We arrived and Joe got us in to see a tech and they found that the problem was our new oil pump.  Joe couldn’t have been more helpful.  He made us feel like we had been a Butler customer for 15 years, not 15 minutes.  The only problem was our trip to Southern California looked like it was ending in Ashland.  Then we met Chris Hansen your rental manager.  He assured us not to worry.  Seattle again had sent instructions to take care of a rental for us.
Chris got us a car to get back and forth to a motel for the evening, and helped arrange for a rental for the rest of our trip.  The following morning we were on the road in a rental, while our Acura was left for your service department to repair.  We had a wonderful trip and our car was fixed and waiting for us when we returned to Ashland.

Butler’s Lifetime Lube, Oil, Filter Program

oil changePart of making sure your vehicle run its best as long as possible is regularly changing the oil.  Oil is the engine’s lifeblood so it’s important to keep it as free of contaminants as possible.  Whether your vehicle runs on gasoline or diesel fuel Butler offers two programs to keep it purring no matter how much you drive.  As the new owner of a Butler vehicle we offer a Lifetime Lube, Oil and Filter Program. If you drive 12,000 miles a year you might consider our Basic Package which offers an oil or synthetic lubricant change every three months or 3,000 miles, up to 4 times a year.  For a gas vehicle the cost is $499.  For a diesel vehicle the price is $699.  Both packages apply to your vehicle for as long  as you own it.

The Executive Package is for those of you who drive more than 12,000 miles a year.  The Executive Package offers oil or synthetic lubricant changes every 3,000 miles as often as you want for as long as you own the vehicle.  For a gas vehicle the Executive Package price is $699.  For diesel it’s $899.

Additionally –every time your vehicle is in for an oil change we’ll top-off all the fluids (excluding fuel), and our factory-certified technicians will put it through a 29-point safety inspection.  They’ll also keep track of your service records which can come in handy when questions about warranties or extended service contracts arise.

First Butler Open House of 2014 a Success!
