Tax season is here! Why is that a good thing? Many of us have already received our refunds and are investing money back into the economy through automotive purchases. A win-win for the economy and the consumer.
So what vehicles are the most sought after? The 2015 Ford F-150 and Acura TLX proudly sit among the top sellers in a January auto sales report, according to Edmunds.com.
“Momentum is especially strong for our F-Series pickup, with the all-new F-150 the hottest product on our dealers lots in January,” said Erich Merkle, Ford’s U.S. sales analyst. Ford reported that the new aluminum-bodied F-150 is averaging just 12 days on the lot. High-end Platinum and King Ranch F-150 models are “turning even faster, averaging just nine and 10 days, respectively,” Ford said.
Ford posted a 15 percent sales increase in the U.S. in January, with sales of 178,351 vehicles.
Acura’s revamped Acura TLX was a top performer as well. Consumers grabbed 2,892 TLXs in January, “easily besting the combined sales of its two predecessors in January 2014 by 27.9 percent,” the company said. The TLX replaces the Acura TL and TSX. A sure winner for 2015.

2015 Acura TLX
We at Butler Acura are proud to report the 2015 Acura TLX is not only stunning, it’s also safe! The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety recently made the luxury sedan one of its 2014 Top Safety Picks+, the agency’s highest possible rating. The Acura MDX and RLX also received top honors, which Acura says makes it the luxury brand with the most 2014 Top Safety Pick+ rated vehicles. Mat Hargett, chief engineer of the 2015 TLX, says, “Our goal in developing TLX was to contribute to Acura’s unmatched safety leadership in the luxury segment as part of an exceptional all-around luxury driving experience. The TLX utilizes a highly advanced body construction plus the latest in safety and driver-assistive technologies to provide occupant protection that is unmatched in the segment.”

2015 Acura TLX with Super Handling All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD)
Automotive News is reporting that Acura may follow in Subaru’s footsteps by making all vehicles in its lineup All-Wheel-Drive. According to Koichi Fukuo, senior managing officer at Acura parent company Honda, “The key is AWD. As a premium brand, we need something different from the competition. What’s important is to have the technology, styling and performance to evolve all together. Otherwise, I don’t think we can increase the number of loyal customers, so-called Acurists.” Right now, Acura offers AWD as an option on all its current vehicles except the ILX. With Fall here and Winter on the way we’re really excited about the heated seats in the 2015 Acura TLX! Of course, many vehicles can boast about having heated (and cooled) seats, but the TLX adds an extra layer of ease by putting the controls on the easily navigated touch screen. Watch the video for all the details. Then enjoy happy, warm travels!
With the all new 2015 Acura TLX finally on the lot and the much anticipated 2015 Acura NSX still off somewhere in the future we’re in waiting mode. Then again, we could take this time to appreciate how far Honda’s luxury brand has come in the past 28-years. Murdock Creative put together an awesome infographic chronicling the auto maker’s timeline up to 2011. It’s loaded with information and images. We hope it helps you weather the downtime before the new NSX arrives.
If it feels you can’t turn around without seeing some kind of ad promoting the 2015 Acura TLX there’s good reason; The marketing campaign for the all-new luxury performance sedan is the biggest in Acura history! The brand says the “It’s That Kind of Thrill” campaign includes a web presence on sites like MSN and Yahoo with custom digital content on Slate, Business Insider and Car & Driver sites. New Yorker cartoonists are contributing “Thrillustrations”, engaging cartoon panels featuring the vehicle. Television ads will be complemented by a massive video campaign to hit Facebook this month. Twitter users will be able to design an Acura within a Tweet. And ESPN’s Sportscenter will feature the TLX in a month-long sponsorship of college football hightlights. So, ike we said, the TLX will be everywhere! Of course, if you’d rather see for yourself what all the fuss is about just come to Butler Acura and take one for a test drive. Then and only then will you understand what all the fuss is about.
We’ve always appreciated The New Yorker Magazine for its smarts and wit and, now, we have another reason to love it. New Yorker cartoonist Christopher Weyant’s been penning a series of funnies featuring the all-new 2015 Acura TLX. We know very little about the apparent partnership except that we enjoy it! At least the cartoons give us something to read about while we wait for the next TLX to arrive at Butler Acura!
